Responding to 4-15 by cmpipe's loan modification. I tried-called my lender (Countrywide) who said no. In the end, they hold the cards, regardless of what the makinghomeaffordable guidelines say-good luck getting anyone to help you to AVOID a default, or are in arrears. I was left with no hope, and felt as if until I was in fact a few months behind, I had no options. I was laid off for 6 months, depleted all of my savings-almost maxed out all credit cards, and I am about to withdraw from my IRA to survive-unemployment will run out soon, if I don't get another job that pays what I need-then what?
