I do not feel deprived, as a matter of fact when I do splurge with friends for a weekend away, etc. the experience is sweeter. I have friends who spend freely and give into whimsical purchases yet I never feel left out but maybe a bit silently smug as I am proud to have my spending/savings under control and a future with a plan.
