Hi Jean:

My husband, like a lot of folks these days, has been recently laid off. Although we have not been late with payments yet, the future looks bleak. It is going to be difficult to even make the minimum payments. I just noticed the companies are giving out a new phone number on their billing statements asking if you would like information about credit counseling services to call. So my question is should I call and let these cc companies no of our situation? Thank for your time. Sharry Mulligan

Dont think my last question went through so I'll repeat. I had a card with a very high balance and the rate was high as well. I got an offer from another credit card to transfer at a very low rate so I took 80% off the first card and transferred. Now, 2 months later the original card is sending me an offer for a lower rate if I do a balance transfer. Is comstantly transferring balances bad for my credit score? I dont use these cards for purchases only to pay down this debt. I dont carry the cards on me. Im afraid my constant transferring may somehow hurt me. Seems too good to be true.
