THE DIFFERENCE

When I Grow Up I Want To Be…

Posted by Jean

Joan Hamburg.  If you are a woman from the tri-state area, you know Joan.  At least you feel like you do.  When I moved to New York City — to take up residence in a floor-thru in Brooklyn — back in 1986, I drove into town with WOR on the radio and Joan Hamburg was my soundtrack.  She is a tough consumer (she wrote the original book on New York on $5 a Day),  a great mother (of two kids:  Liz, who does reports for Joan’s show, and John, who directed I Love You, Man, out friday), a devoted wife, and a pistol.  And I mean that in the best sense of the word.

She invited me on her show today.  So if you have a chance, listen to my interview today at 12:06pm EST on WOR News Talk Radio 710 AM.  I’ll be talking about The Difference and how you can survive – and thrive – in this economy.  You can listen online by clicking this link.

My goal on the radio has been to connect with listeners like Joan has always connected with me.  “We’ll talk,” she often says as she heads to break.  And then she does — weighing in on politics, restaurants, the changing New York, women and careers, medical issues, and yes, money.  She doesn’t pull punches.  She tells you how she feels.  I am aiming to do the same.  So pick up the phone at 12 EST Monday through Friday and give ME a call and we’ll talk.  1-866-OPRAH-XM.
